My name is Carlin Hunt, but I have always went by Carli. I am from a small red light town in West Tennessee called Savannah. For as long as I can remember, I have been a people person. If you ask my friends about me, they will more than likely tell you that I do not meet a stranger. This made me excited for college, because I would soon get the opportunity to meet a whole new group of people. When deciding to go to college, I struggled. Each place that I toured had something the others didn't. But when I toured the University of North Alabama, I just felt different. My tour guide was showing us the campus on a normal Thursday during the week. When people changed for classes, we were near the fountain that is located in the middle of most classes. At least 5 people said hey to her within the 4 minutes we were standing there. It reminded me of myself when I was in high school and how it was close knit. I have always known all the people around me, so it was comforting knowing that is what college was like here. My mind could not get over the feelings I had while touring, so I chose to attend UNA. Once I moved to Florence, I immediately had to get used to "college life". I went through recruitment and pledged Zeta Tau Alpha. Throughout my four years in this organization, I found things I never knew I needed in life. I met some of the best friends I have ever had, roommates that don't make having roommates hard, and strengthened my leadership skills. It made me mature as a person and think about the values that I wanted. Some of the things I value most is uniqueness, wisdom, and authenticity. Life gets so hard as you get older, but I am extremely grateful for the experiences that I have had. It has gotten me to where I am now, and I could not be any more content with the lessons that I have learned.
